Vintage Sappharine and Blue Ab Rhinestone Clip on Earrings -Saphiret Style. Vintage Sappharine and blue Ab rhinestone clip on earrings. These lovely, collectable earrings have gorgeous pinkish hued center cabochons bordered with dazzling blue ab rhinestones. The earrings are in great vintage condition. Size - 1 1/8" L x 7/8" W. Saphiret glass was made in Czechoslovakia in the 1800s by mixing melted gold into sapphire-colored glass.

The result was a glass which looked brick red or brown, and reflects blue. The glass was used through the very early 1900s. Sappharine stones were made in Germany. They may be lighter in color than Saphirets.

They can be found in Weiss, Florenza and Regency, from the 1950s.
