Vintage Christian Dior German Made Clip Earrings with Purple & Pink Stones Signed

Rare Vintage 1970s Christian Dior German Made Clip-on Earrings w/ Purple & Pink Stones - Signed Chr. Dior Germany / gold toned metal.

Rectangular shaped stones are glass meant to simulate pink sapphires and amethysts set in gold. The earrings are meant to look almost like a hoop when worn. They are arranged in a curved line of three stones with a pink, a purple, and a pink stone, that clips onto the earlobe and appears to curve around it when worn. They are very attractive on. This is a comfortable clip style that also stays on securely.

They do not pinch your ears. Dior managed to design clip on earrings that are easy on the ears which is a real plus! Dior originally designed the jewelry to compliment the clothing in his collections. He opened a studio in Germany to produce his jewelry designs.

The pieces with colored stones are. Very rare and only a few of each design were made.

When he died in 1957 Yves Saint Laurent took over and designed the jewelry. In 1998 the position passed on to Victoire de Castellane. All of them are famous for their jewelry designs as well as the other things they created.

This is a gorgeous set that would make a beautiful gift to be worn & treasured for a lifetime. Magnin's in San Francisco in the early 1970's.

Dior's fashion jewelry is also a good investment as Dior jewelry is constantly increasing in value. It is sought after by collectors and women who enjoy wearing it.
