Joan Rivers Fantasy June Bug Clip Earrings Plique a Jour Rhinestone Vintage 1980

This is a Stunning pair of vintage clip-on earrings from the 1980s designed by Joan Rivers. 1.25 in x 1.50in in size. The earrings are in the shape of a June Bug and are made of Pink Rhinestones, Red Rhinestones, Pink Plique a Jour, Red Plique a Jour, Pink Enamel, Red Enamel, Antique Bronze Metal.

Plique a Jour enameling technique is a vitreous enameling technique where the enamel is applied in cells, similar to cloisonné, but with no backing in the final product, and if you look at the back of the earrings you will see exactly this as it was applied to the lower wings around the rhinestones. They are signed by the designer and feature a clip-on closure.
